Russia is quite a wealthy country, but that does not exclude them from the growing benefits of globalization. Their top imports are machines, engines, and pumps; electronic equipment; and pharmaceuticals (World's Richest Countries, 2014). The main imported good is machines, the largest importer being China (with 15.4% of Russia's total imports), Germany (9.4%), and the United States (3.8%).China and Germany provide electronic equipment as the second highes import; however the United States second highest import is medical and technical equipment. These countries are not only related with Russia, but also with each other as well, creating the driving force of globalization. This economic relationship not only enhances Russia's economy but also reciprocates to the other countries.
I think these relationships help Russia, especially since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia had to, in a way, completely start over. The relationships keep Russia on the world scale, and keep the interdependence of the world continuous.
